 A unique Diamond Quality Logo

The information below guides you through how

we use specific gemstones in our logo,

and how the specific colours and location of these gemstones are used to reflect the quality of the diamonds within our jewellery.

The most important characters of a diamond are:

1) Cut  2) Type & Colour and 3) Clarity

And these characters are identified in the three areas

of our logo shown here.

The gemstones we use to represent the Cut grade of a diamond are set into the left side of our logo.
1) - Diamond CUT

At Bow Diamonds we split our cut grades into two categories - Diamonds under 0.25ct & Diamonds 0.25ct & over

Diamonds under 0.25ct are available as Full or Single Cut.

Our Full Cut diamonds under 0.25ct have 57/58 facets,

the same as our diamonds of 0.25ct and over.

Our Single Cut diamonds have 17/18 facets which limit cutting labour but also stone brilliance and quality.

Due to their smaller size, diamonds under 0.25ct are not not graded any further.

Diamonds of 0.25ct & over are represented by our gemstone colours in line with their official grading certificate

up to the 'Very Good' cut grading.

To achieve our highest cut grading of 'Bow Ideal' we take

into consideration two more, very important qualities that

affects a diamonds overall cut quality:

Symmetry & Polish

  • Symmetry: The precision of a finished diamond’s shape and facet placements. Graded as 'good', 'very good' & 'excellent'.
  • Polish: The overall condition of the diamond’s facets surfaces. Graded as 'good', 'very good' & 'excellent'.

Therefore to acheive 'Bow Ideal' a diamond will need to have the highest cut grading for its specific shape and an 'excellent' grading for both Symmetry & Polish.

2) - Diamond TYPE & COLOUR

The gemstones we use to represent the Type & Colour grade of a diamond are set into the central area of our logo.

Type identifies whether a diamond is

laboratory grown or natural.

Colour identifies how much absence of colour

there is in a diamond, ranging from  colourless (D,E,F) to near colourless (G,H,I) and slight tint or faint yellow (J).

A 'Natural' Type and 'D' Colour diamond is the highest,

rarest, and also the most valuable type and colour grade.

Nearly ten percent of customers choose a

'Natural' Type and 'D' Colour diamond.

3) - Diamond CLARITY

Th  A diamond's Clarity is the assessment of small imperfections within the diamond.

Surface flaws on a diamond are called blemishes, while internal defects are known as inclusions.

Most inclusions can’t be seen with the naked eye. When referring to inclusions, gemmologists often use the term “internal characteristics” instead of flaws.

Diamonds with the fewest and smallest inclusions receive the highest clarity grades—and higher price tags to reflect that.

At Bow diamonds, for diamonds 0.25ct & over, we follow strict official diamond grading reports (e.g IGI, GIA, EGL)

up to and including VVS1 clarity.

To qualify for our top Clarity grading, Bow Flawless, a diamonds report must show that it is flawless either internally,

 externally or both.

This will be indicated by a ruby (red) gemstone on the

right side of our logo.

Laboratory Grown Diamonds

At Bow Diamonds we use both naturally mined and laboratory grown diamonds in our jewellery, and the

two Types of diamonds are easily identified by our logo.

The different gemstones colours used in the central area of our logo reveal the difference between the two types by using only clear or black gemstones for laboratory grown diamonds, or any of the colours within the rainbow sequence for natural diamonds.

An example of our lab grown diamond jewellery is shown below.

D,E,F colour lab grown diamonds are identifiable in this ring by the central clear lab grown diamond in our logo,

and the diamonds Cut qualities as Full Cut and Clarity qualities as VVS.
